The President of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Muhammad Jalood came to our capital on a practical visit. The distinguished guest first visited the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. He was accompanied by Shakhrillo Makhmudov, Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, First Deputy of the Weightlifting Federation of the country.
Firstly, he started his official visit with Scientific and Practical Medical Center under the Committee National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. Director of the Center Kamal Sirojitdinov gave detailed information about the athletes’ treatment, rehabilitation process and medical services provided to them. Muhammad Jalood highly appreciated the conditions created in the Center.
After that, the distinguished guest met with the General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee, Oybek Kasimov. The IWF president reviewed a presentation about the Tashkent-2025 Asian and Para-Asian Youth Games, as well as the World Youth Championship to be held in the capital city, in Tashkent next year. According to him, both competitions will be took place in the one main complex under construction in the Olympic town. At the presentation, the officials gave detailed information about how the complex will be prepared for weightlifting competitions and the conditions created for the guests. It should be noted that the future world championship scheduled for May-June 2025 will serve as a test competition before the Asian Youth Games.
In his turn, Muhammad Jalood spoke about the great experience of Uzbekistan in holding such large-scale competitions and expressed confidence that the upcoming tournaments will be better than ever. During the event, they exchanged ideas mutually on such directions as further strengthening of friendly relations, joint preparation for upcoming competitions.
Then, IWF President met with Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Adham Ikramov. During the conversation, which took place in a sincere spirit, issues such as bilateral cooperation, in particular, further development of weightlifting in our country, ensuring the full participation of Uzbek athletes in international competitions, and holding international competitions in Uzbekistan, were discussed.
In the afternoon, the distinguished guest visited the World MMA Championship hosted by the “Humo Arena” complex. Muhammad Jalood witnessed the organization of the world championship in mixed martial arts at a high level and specially recognized that Uzbekistan is gaining a lot of experience in holding prestigious competitions.
During the day, he made a visit to the Olympic town, which is being built for the Tashkent-2025 Youth Asian and Para-Asian Games. The officials gave detailed information to the IWF president about the sports facilities in the town and their construction processes. Such creative works in our capital made a great impression on the distinguished guest.
